Witness Statement Drafting
Properly formatted, properly structured, court-ready. We turn what happened into a document the court, tribunal, or decision-maker will actually accept — flat fee £175, drafted within 48 hours.
What Is a Witness Statement
A witness statement is a written record of evidence — a person’s account of events, set out in numbered paragraphs, signed with a statement of truth. It is one of the most important documents in any case. The court reads it before the hearing. The other side’s lawyers read it before the hearing. By the time you stand up to speak, your statement has already done most of the work — or undone it.
When You Need One
Civil Court Proceedings
County Court and High Court claims — small claims, fast track, multi track. Drafted to meet Civil Procedure Rules Part 32 and the relevant Practice Direction.
Tribunals
Employment, immigration, social security, mental health, and other tribunals. Statement structured to address the issues the panel will be asked to decide.
Professional & Regulatory Bodies
NMC, GMC, GTC, SRA, ACCA, and other professional regulators. Hearings at this level demand precision — statements drafted to the body’s procedural rules.
Insurance & Claims Disputes
Witness statements supporting personal injury claims, motor incidents, household claims, and disputes with insurers. Clear, factual, sequential.
Statements in Support
Supporting statements for applications, appeals, complaints, and proceedings — from neighbours, colleagues, family members, and other witnesses.
Other Proceedings
Council disputes, school admissions appeals, planning matters, leasehold disputes, and any forum where written witness evidence is required.
What Gets Statements Rejected
The single most common reason witness statements fail is that they don’t comply with the rules. Courts and tribunals can — and do — refuse to admit statements that:
- Aren’t written in the witness’s own words
- Mix evidence with argument or opinion (a witness states facts; advocacy belongs elsewhere)
- Lack a properly worded statement of truth
- Aren’t structured in numbered paragraphs
- Refer to documents that aren’t exhibited or paginated correctly
- Contain hearsay without identifying the source
- Use inconsistent dates, names, or chronology
- Don’t address the issues the court has been asked to decide
A witness statement isn’t a letter to a friend. It’s evidence. We draft it that way.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the £175 fee?
The flat £175 fee covers a fully drafted witness statement based on your account of events: court-ready formatting, numbered paragraphs, the relevant heading block, a properly worded statement of truth, references to exhibits where relevant, and up to 3 free edits within 24 hours of delivery. Delivered as a Word document for your signature.
How long does a witness statement take?
Standard turnaround is 48 hours from receipt of full instructions and payment. If you have an urgent hearing date, let us know and we will tell you whether we can meet it before you instruct.
What courts and tribunals do you cover?
We draft witness statements for County Court and High Court civil claims, Employment Tribunal, immigration and other tribunals, professional regulatory bodies (NMC, GMC, GTC, SRA, ACCA and others), insurance disputes, and other forums where written witness evidence is required. The format is tailored to the relevant rules.
Can ClearDraft give me legal advice on my case?
No — but we can give you advice on drafting your witness statement, which runs alongside the legal advice you may need elsewhere. ClearDraft is a document drafting service, not a law firm. We can advise on how to structure your statement, what the court or tribunal expects to see, what information needs to go in, and how to present it — all of which directly affects how your case is received.
What if I have multiple witnesses?
Each witness statement is a separate £175 instruction. We can draft multiple statements at the same time if you have several witnesses, and each one will be tailored to the witness's own account of events.
Not sure what to include? Just give us your account of events — we’ll ask the right questions and draft a statement that addresses what the court needs to see.
